Exotic Burma teak is almost as hard as oak (janka #1155) and is reasonably priced. Use teak in bedrooms as it has a great warm/luxury feel under your bare feet! Also use in bathrooms as eng planks are dimensionaly stable and teak resists moisture.

STOP NOISE transfer thru your wood floor with our Acoustic Decoupler. Also use over at grade concrete as a moisture barrier and to stop the cold transfer. This 9/64" thick reinforced rubber is simply rolled out on top of the subfloor and then solid wood or engineered flooring planks are stapled or glued directly over the acoustic decoupler. Our decoupler will not compress, fall apart or allow mold and mildew growth. Do not be mislead by thinking that a thicker product is better. IIC is 63. A 54" x 48' roll (216 sqft) is ON SALE for $216 when you buy our wood flooring. freight paid. Click-on our Acoustical materials page for specifications or call.

High Quality at Low Price: Our EcoFloor brand is direclty imported for SurfacingSolution by our parent company Global Specialty Products, Ltd. This allows SurfacingSolution to be a low price leader in the wood flooring industry without sacrificing quality. Our select & better solid northern maple and white oak come from areas of China/Russia that is as far north as Canada. This wood has beautiful color and excellent quality! (see photo of planks) Our maple and white oak are a little harder than red oak (janka #1360 vs 1260). North American maple (janka #1450) is a little harder than our maple but not significantly (only about 90 janka# higher). Our maple is a little harder than red oak (about 100 janka# higher). We have sold tens of thousands of sq ft of our EcoFloor over 15 years with no quality problems and numerous happy customers! EcoFloor is shipped with low freight rates providing even more value: Low price and high quality. Freight Sale: Email us for a freight quote. Our select & better wood is mostly clear, no open knotts and has limited color variation. (see NOFMA Grading Rules) It is not a lower grade of wood. Industry standard is to order an extra 5% to 10% for your selecting. Our random length planks have some 12" planks that are at the most only 5% of the linear footage. Use up at the edges of the room, in closits, under refrigerators, etc. The other lenghts are 12" to 55". The 3" wide planks are specific lengths of 18", 24", 30" and 36". The kempas wood is all 36" planks and the hardness on the janka chart is 1854 vs 1290 for oak. If you are installing over a wood subfloor, we recommend using our 3/4" solid wood planks. If you wish to install 3/4" solid planks to at grade concrete, we recommend you first glue down minimum 3/8" plywood and then glue down the flooring planks to the plywood with our Taylor 2071 adhesive. With solid wood planks, it is important to aclimate planks prior to installation as they will expand and contract. This is especially true if installing in a dry climate in the winter season. Use our Engineered wood planks (which are more dimensionally stable than solid wood planks) for installations over concrete and radiant heat. Easy glue down installation. see click-ons: "#1""#2""#3" "#4."

CHOOSING A COLOR: Why not compliment your other woodwork/cabinets/furniture rather than trying to match? Our northern maple is a light neutral look (picture maple close-up) (another picture maple close-up) that is better for resale as well as compliments reddish and all other woods. Maple is a little harder than oak. The white oak is a brown/tan/gold color and is darker and a completely different color than red oak which is more pinkish in color. But yet it goes well with red oak as well as maple. White oak is alos a little harder than red oak. Our select ash planks are similar to white oak but lighter and less brown. Ash is harder than red oak (janka #1320). The reddish Asian mahogany (kempas wood) or Asian Brazilian cherry (merbau wood) goes well with maple and compliments other reddish woods such as brazilian cherry or american cherry. Both the kempas and merbau wood are 50% harder than oak (janka #1854 & 1925 vs 1260 red oak). More color choices: Ash, Northern Honey Maple & Gunstock oak. Also see exotic Burma teak. Keep in mind that wood species grow in specific colors that adds to its natural beauty. Color variation will occur from plank to plank.

Warranty: The finish and any defects in the planks are guaranteed for 25 years in residential applications. This is a wear thru warranty. We realize that some manufactures use up to a 50 year warranty, but this seems to be a marketing ploy and not reflective of the actual quality. EcoFloor brand planks are guaranteed by Global Specialty Products Ltd to be free of manufacturing defects. Please inspect product prior to installation. Industry standard is to order a minimun 5% extra for your selecting. Color variation will occur from plank to plank and is not warranted. Your installer guarantees the install while we guarantee the product. This is the same for all brands. With solid wood planks, it is important to aclimate planks prior to installation as they will expand and contract. This is especially true if installing in a dry climate in the winter season. It is recommended to keep the room moisture level between 35% to 55% to not damage the wood flooring and void our warranty. Our engineered planks are more dimensionally stable than solid wood planks. Also it is important only to float install planks that are recommended for that type of installation. It is not recommended to float install our solid wood planks or our 9/16"x3.5"x36"engineered planks. For installations over radiant heat, it is recommended to glue down "float install" type planks rather than floating. Terms, Conditions and Warranty

Why we use a satin finish rather than a gloss type: No flooring is guaranteed not to scratch. All warranties are a wear thru warranty. A sample with a gloss finish may look better and appears to have a thicker layer of finish than a satin sample, but keep in mind with a gloss finish scratches will be much more noticeable than with a satin finish. In addition, any minor imperfections in the wood will be amplified by a gloss finish. Our satin finsh is more practical for your floor as well as we use the very durable and high quality German klumpp aluminum oxide finish. Phone call from Joan: "I am so sorry I didn't get the kempas floor from you but got another brand with a gloss finish. It shows even minor scratches. The glossy sample looked so good, but what a big mistake!"

Square edge vs bevel edge: All prefinished wood flooring should come with some type of beveled edge. Our EcoFloor has a very small "eased" edge which is much smaller than a beveled edge. An unfinished floor can come with a square edge, but these solid wood planks will still expand and contract as with a prefinished floor. Therefore, gaps will occur between planks of a square edge unfinished solid wood floor. For a tight seam in the winter, see our engineered real wood planks which are more dimensionally stable than solid wood planks and give you the same look, quality and feel. Also, our factory applied aluminum oxide finish is better and less costly than a field applied lacquer finish (and no mess and fumes).

Why use our Taylor 2071 glue: Patented Meta-Tec technology makes it work much better than urethane glue and has no chlorinated solvents or isocyanates (VOC compliant). Click-on Wood Flooring Adhesive to read why you will get a better installation with our Taylor 2071 glue. Clean up is easy as it washes off from your hands with soap and water. If you get some on our prefinished planks, a slight amount of acetone will clean it off even when dried. Don't use so much that it harms the finish. But best to clean with a wet towel while installing and the glue is still not fully cured. $189 for a 4 gallon pail that covers about 200 sq ft. We recommend you use the best glue available for solid wood planks! Glue down vs. nail down for less expansion and contraction, eliminate squeaks and reduce noise transfer thru the floor. For gluing the solid wood planks to a wood subfloor, just put some glue about every foot vs trowling.

Stairtread/Stairnose Options: For maple and white oak, one piece unfinished stairtreads can be bought locally. In a remodel or for woods such as the kempas or bamboo, you could re-face your existing stairs with the flooring planks by cutting the last plank to the width needed, rounding off the top with a router and putting some finish on the end. Paint the vertical surfaces with enamel paint to color desired. This is your least expensive option. We also have available a 6' threshold molding in all the wood types ($19) that can be used as an overlap stairnose or can be re-fabricated into a flush stairnose. Another option is to use a different stairtread wood from the floor planks (oak, maple, cherry, birch, ash, mahogany) and stain to match the kempas or bamboo. This is not unusual for an architect/interior designer to mix wood types in an interior. For example in a very high end retaurant that had our kempas floor, the designer used oak on the bar/other areas and stained it red. For stairnosing, we have 6' lengths available for $27 in bamboo and kempas. Also available is a strand woven bamboo 6' stairnose for $36. Maple and white oak unfinished stairnose would be available locally. Your least expensive option is to cut the last plank to the width needed (if running parallel to landing) and round off the top and varnish the end. For Engineered planks, add a small molding at the front edge to cover the exposed plywood core (click-on to see how). Our T374 Tambour slat (3/16"x3/4"x36") is available at no charge in unfinished red oak, maple and cherry for this application. Also you can use our threshold molding (available in most woods, $18, 6') as an overlap stairnose or can be re-fabricated into a flush stairnose.

Call with any questions or to request samples! Small samples are no charge and are representative of product that will be shipped to you. The product color can vary in monitors. It is an important decision and we want you to be happy with the color and quality received. For a nominal $15 charge (refundable on your order), we will send large samples of specific product being considered or our 8"x11" sample card. EcoFloor: economical and eco-friendly.
